Practice

What we do for studios that take drawings seriously.

We help studios, contractors and developers adopt BIM as a working methodology — not just as software. Every engagement is bespoke; we shape it around what's actually slow, expensive or risky in how you work today.

BIM strategy & adoption

We assess how your teams actually work today — not the software they own — and define a realistic adoption roadmap. What changes, what stays, what sequence, and what it costs in time before it pays back. The plan is calibrated to your scale and your appetite for change, not a generic maturity ladder.

  • + Current-state workflow assessment
  • + Adoption roadmap & priorities
  • + Tooling and resourcing plan
  • + Realistic change-management sequencing

Standards & EIRs

BEPs, EIRs, naming conventions, levels of information need, and the documentation that surrounds ISO 19650. Written to survive contact with real projects rather than sit unread in a folder — specific to your project types, your clients, and the way your drawings actually get produced.

  • + BIM Execution Plans (BEP)
  • + Exchange Information Requirements (EIR)
  • + Naming conventions & file structures
  • + ISO 19650 alignment
→ 03

Training & mentoring

Hands-on sessions in Revit, Navisworks, Dynamo and coordination workflows — structured around your live projects, not a generic curriculum. We work alongside your team so the learning sticks to the work in front of them, then stay reachable while it beds in.

  • + Revit & Navisworks, project-based
  • + Dynamo & automation fundamentals
  • + Coordination & clash workflows
  • + Mentoring through the first projects

Custom development

When a workflow is slow because the software has no button for it, we build the button. Revit and Navisworks plugins, Dynamo-to-C# conversion, and automation that removes the half-day of clicking nobody should be doing. Many of these tools graduate into the Bim3Lab plugin suite.

  • + Revit & Navisworks plugins
  • + Dynamo graph → production C# tools
  • + Bespoke automation
  • + Maintained and updated over time
Behind Bim3Lab

Built by an architectural technologist with over fifteen years in the UK market.

From listed-building conversions to large mixed-use and residential schemes, the work behind Bim3Lab comes from real UK projects — the kind where a missing standard or a clumsy workflow quietly costs weeks. Years inside that market mean the methodology is grounded in how things are actually delivered here: ISO 19650, RIBA stages, and the realities of getting a model through to construction. The consultancy and its tools exist because those projects made it obvious what was missing — we build the methodology, and the tools, we wished we'd had.

Every engagement starts with a conversation.

There are no fixed packages — we scope each piece of work around what you actually need. Tell us what's slowing you down and we'll tell you how we'd approach it.
